DAN SILVER

Player to watch who and why: This is a pivotal year for Flyers captain Claude Giroux. His point totals have dropped each of the last three seasons, from 86 in 2013-14 down to 58 in 2016-17. Presumably healthy now, the switch to the wing should take some pressure off him defensively and there are no excuses for him not to produce. Early returns are encouraging as he is off to a hot start!

Bold Prediction (Flyers related): Sean Couturier, who has never scored more than 40 points in a season, will bump that up 60 percent and score at least 60 points while centering the deadly new first line.

Flyers leading scorer (and how many points): Jake Voracek, 74 points

Number of points for Nolan Patrick: 32 points
