Late Monday night the Flyers broke the news that they acquired goaltender Petr Mrazek from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2018, and a conditional third-round pick in 2019. The Red Wings have retained 50% of his $4 million dollar cap hit.

* UPDATED* -DET guaranteed no less than a 4th round for Mrazek. If PHI makes playoffs and Mrazek wins 5 games for PHI in regular season, 2018 4th becomes a 2018 3rd. If PHI advances to Conference Finals, and Mrazek wins six playoff games, the 2018 3rd becomes a 2018 2nd. If PHI re-signs him next season, DET gets PHI 3rd in 2019.

Mrazek has played 22 games this season registering a 2.89 GAA and .910 SV%. He has played 166 career NHL games, all with Detroit, with a career record of 72-58-20 and has a career 2.60 GAA and .912 SV%.

Mrazek is in the last year of his two-year deal that pays him $4 million this season. The 26-year-old is a restricted free agent after the season and could look to dethrone Neuvirth from the backup spot next season if he plays well through the rest of the season.
