As the dust settles from the NHL Trade Deadline, here are all the moves made by Metropolitan division teams.
Philadelphia Flyers: Injuries to starting goaltender Brian Elliott and backup Michal Neuvirth forced Ron Hextall to make a move and acquire Petr Mrazek from the Red Wings for a conditional fourth round pick in 2018 and a conditional third round pick in 2019.
The Flyers lost Mark Alt on waivers to Colorado, but they claimed Johnny Oduya off waivers from Ottawa.
New Jersey Devils: The Devils look to improve their struggling goal scoring and make their penalty kill even stronger by acquiring Michael Grabner from the Rangers in exchange for a 2018 second round pick and defense prospect Yegor Rykov.
NJ acquired forward Patrick Maroon from the Oliers in exchange for a 2019 third round pick and forward prospect J.D. Dudek
Washington Capitals: The Capitals wanted to improve their defense, so the first acquired defenseman Michael Kempny from Chicago in exchange for a 2018 third round pick.
They would then trade for undrafted prospect 26-year-old defenseman Jakob Jerabek from Montreal for a 2019 fifth round pick.
Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins went all in to three-peat as they acquired Derick Brassard, left wing prospect Vincent Dunn, and a 2018 third round pick from the Senators in exchange for Pittsburgh’s 2018 first round pick, 2019 third round pick, defenseman Ian Cole, and goalie prospect Filip Gustafsson.
In order to make the cap space work, they traded Ryan Reaves and a 2018 fourth round pick to Las Vegas in return for left wing Tobias Lindberg.
PIT acquired Josh Jooris from Carolina in exchange for center Greg McKegg.
New York Islanders: The Islanders acquired defenseman Brandon Davidson from Edmonton in return for a 2018 third round pick.
NYI acquired depth forward Chris Wagner from Anaheim in exchange for forward Jason Chimera.
New York Rangers: The yard sale began by trading defenseman Nick Holden to Boston for prospect Rob O’Gara and a 2018 third round pick.
NYR traded Michael Grabner to the Devils for a 2018 second round pick and defenseman prospect Yegor Rykov.
NYR traded veteran forward Rick Nash to Boston for a 2018 first round pick, a 2019 seventh round pick, forward Ryan Spooner, forward Matt Beleskey, and defenseman Ryan Lindgren.
NYR trade star defenseman Ryan McDonagh and forward JT Miller to Tampa Bay for 2018 first round pick, 2019 conditional second round pick, defensive prospect Libor Hajek, forward prospect Brett Howden, forward Valdislav Nemestnikov
Carolina Hurricanes: Traded forward Josh Jooris to Pittsburgh for Greg McKegg
Columbus Blue Jackets: CBJ acquired forward Mark Letestu from Nashville for a 2018 fourth round pick.
CBJ acquired Thomas Vanek from Vancouver for forwards Tyler Motte and Jussi Jokinen.
CBJ acquired defenseman Ian Cole from Ottawa for forward prospect Nick Moutrey and a 2020 third round pick.
