A New Era

It is Carter Hart time in Philadelphia.

The Flyers will be hosting the Detroit Red Wings at the Wells Fargo in South Philadelphia tonight. Carter Hart will be making his professional debut as starting goalie.

With Scott Gordon behind the bench, there is a sense that the younger players will finally be put in a better position to succeed. Look for Players such as Oskar Lindblom and Travis Sanheim to step up.

The Flyers are using their sixth goalie before Christmas. This has only happened one other time in NHL history.

This is the first time in a long time that there is a positive reaction when talking about the game beforehand. There is a sense of excitement and I am sure the Wells Fargo Center will be rocking, but the team must take advantage of the momentum.

A critical part of the game will be the Flyers presence in their own zone. Defensemen cannot get caught on the same side and end up in the same corner together.

The Flyers struggle at covering the slot, so it is important for defensemen to stay committed while also clogging lanes in front of the net so Hart has space to see the ice the way he wants to see it.

Excitement seems to be back when discussing the Flyers.

Even though the last couple of days have been a PR nightmare, the fans are excited to see the product on the ice with a breath of fresh air behind the bench.

It is important for Carter Hart to get a rhythm going. It is all about consistency and getting settled in and the team in front of him has to make it as easy as possible.

Get excited fans, a new era could be beginning tonight!
